视觉目标跟踪现状与发展

摘要:
视觉目标跟踪系统在军事和民用领域都有重大的应用需求,如武器制导、视觉导航、安防监控等。视觉目标跟踪系统的目的是在视频序列的每一帧中准确地定位目标位置,还原目标完整的运动路径,为高层应用提供决策依据。根据任务需求不同,目标跟踪系统可以分为单目标跟踪和多目标跟踪。在算法层面分别介绍了视觉单目标跟踪和多目标跟踪的发展现状,并对相关算法的优点和不足做了简要分析。结合当前研究现状,简要地梳理了目标跟踪算法的发展趋势。研究表明,视觉目标跟踪是一个非常开放的研究领域,相关的理论和方法层出不穷,不同算法的侧重点也不尽相同,研究经典的目标跟踪算法有助于把握视觉目标跟踪中潜在的问题,为设计目标跟踪系统提供依据。

Abstract:
Visual object tracking system meets many application requirements in both military and civilian areas, such as weapons guidance, visual navigation, security monitor and so on. The goal of the visual object tracking is to accurately locate the objects in each frame and restore all objects’ complete trajectories, respectively, which provides strong supports for the decisions of high-level applications. In view of different task requirements, the object tracking system can be divided into single object tracking and multiple objects tracking. In this paper, we make a simple comparison to the algorithms of visual single/multiple objects tracking, and briefly analyze the pros and cons of the motioned algorithms. Visual object tracking is a very open field of research, and relevant theories and methods are tremendous. Since algorithms vary from different issues, studying classical tracking algorithms assist in understanding the potential problems in tracking tasks and in providing instructive suggestions for the design of tracking system. Based on existing studies, we take an outlook on the development trend of object tracking techniques.
