The development of artificial intelligence technology accelerates the pace of military intelligence. The U.S. has taken a series of steps to promote the military application of artificial intelligence. Firstly，the US has attached great importance to strategic design at the top level and issued a series of intelligent development strategic plans. Secondly，by the deployment of various military intelligent research projects，the investigation on big data and intelligent algorithms have been carried out to promote the penetration and transformation of artificial intelligence technologies in the fields of intelligence processing，unmanned combat platforms，command and control，weapons and equipment systems and operational mode reform. Thanks to these measures，the U.S. pays great attention to the basic theoretical research and personnel training of intelligent technology，focuses on breakthroughs in core and key technologies，and lays a solid foundation for the development of military intelligence. It is pointed out that the U.S. is also faced with challenges from technology，trust，ethics in the process of advancing the military application of artificial intelligence. At last，some implications and suggestions are put forward to promote military application of mature algorithms，break through cognitive intelligence algorithms，and train military intelligence inter-disciplinary talents. 
