Abstract:Since the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) announced the concept of Mosaic Warfare in August 2017, most countries around the world have paid great attention to this new combat concept, and scholars have gradually deepened their research on Mosaic Warfare. Firstly, this paper analyzes the background of Mosaic Warfare from the aspects of international situation, the US military’s equipment characteristics and artificial intelligence technology, reviews its development process, dissects its concept and connotation, and analyzes its main characteristics from three perspectives. Secondly, looking to the future, this paper discusses the enlightenment of Mosaic Warfare on future development direction of equipment system test and evaluation from the perspectives of innovating ideas, encouraging innovation and making qualitative changes. And it highlights the viewpoint that the equipment system test and evaluation should be developed towards the direction of all intelligence combat system test and evaluation. Finally, focusing on the current situation, this paper expounds that the current test and evaluation work should focus on the following five aspects: dynamic interconnection and interoperability test, interoperability verify- cation, new simulation test technology, system autonomous capability level assessment, decision-making interpret- ability assessment, etc.
